The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is one of three National Boards of Secondary Education and offers school Education through open and Distance Learning Mode. It is the Largest open school in the world with the largest number of courses available, supported by print and electronic media. It has been vested with the authority to enroll ,examine and certify learners until a pre-degree level. The Open Schooling courses of study of NIOS have the same standard and equivalence as the courses of study of other state /National level Board of school education. Learners have joined colleges and professional institutions’ after completing their studies in NIOS,NIOS develops it own curriculum, self learning material and media support programs utilizing expertise of faculty from various Academic and Vocational Education institutions / Organizations. Open schooling encourages flexibility and freedom to learn. Learners can learn at any time and at their own pace.
